Transfer deadline day didn’t disappoint with a host of deals done by Premier League clubs ahead of Monday’s 11pm cut-off.
The biggest of the lot saw Arsenal complete the £45million signing of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid to drastically bolster their midfield options.
Thomas Partey finally joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid
The 27-year-old Ghana internationa moves to the Emirates after 132 appearances for Atleti.
Arsenal were also linked with a move for Houssem Aouar, but Partey is a player the club first scouted way back in 2014 and he was Mikel Artetas first choice target.
Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira departed the Emirates in order to make way for the clubs new No.18.
Torreira departs north London having made 89 appearances after leaving Sampdoria in 2018 to sign for Arsenal, where he was part of the side that won the FA Cup last season.
Guendouzi made 82 appearances since joining the Gunners from Lorient two years ago but he has found himself surplus to requirements under Arteta this term.
Manchester United were the busiest of the top-flight clubs as they made FIVE signings.
Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani and Brazil defender Alex Telles were the two major acquisitions as United moved to strengthen their squad in the wake of Sunday’s 6-1 humiliation by Tottenham.

Cavani, who has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend for a further year, moves to Old Trafford on a free transfer following his release from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
The 33-year-old will reportedly earn £175,000-a-week.
United landed left-back Telles from Porto for an initial fee of £13.5million plus £1.8million in potential add-ons.
United also reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old Atalanta winger Amad Diallo, who will join the Premier League club in January subject to a medical, personal terms and a work permit.
In addition, the Red Devils announced the signing from Sochaux of centre-back Willy Kambwala, who will join the Under-18s squad, while Chris Smalling completed a permanent move to Roma.
Furthermore, another 18-year-old winger – Uruguay wonderkid Facundo Pellistri – completed a £10m move to Old Trafford from Penarol, making it five deadline day arrivals for United.

Concerning events in the capital, Chelsea defender Fiyako Tomori rejected a move to West Ham United just TEN MINUTES before the end of the window after terms were agreed.
The Hammers saw moves for James Tarkowski, Wesley Fofana and Nikola Milenkovic all fall through and thought they had the England international signed up on loan.
But the 22-year-old opted to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place, despite falling down the pecking order after the arrival of Thiago Silva.
West Ham did manage to keep hold of Declan Rice, despite reports of a move to Chelsea, but the club have only managed to sign Vladimir Coufal from Slavia Prague this summer.
Tomori decided not to join West Ham United on loan
David Sullivan told talkSPORT the money made from selling Grady Diangana had created a £40m transfer budget, yet the club were unable to spend more than the £6m fee agreed for Coufal.
Elsewhere, Theo Walcott completed an emotional return to Southampton from Everton, 15 years after leaving the south coast to join Arsenal.
With new signing James Rodriguez having made the wide-right spot his own thanks to an excellent start to his Goodison Park career, Walcott’s first-team chances appeared limited.
The 31-year-old is in the final year of his contract and talkSPORT revealed he waived certain clauses in his contract just to make the loan return to St Mary’s happen.

Everton themselves completed the signing of Ben Godfrey from Norwich in a deal which could be worth up to £30m to strengthen their defensive ranks, while Sweden international goalkeeper Robin Olsen also joined on a season-long loan deal from Roma.
Fulham were also busy on deadline day, securing Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Joachim Andersen on loan deals until the end of the season and the permanent signing of Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
England international Loftus-Cheek has made just one start for Chelsea this season and will hope to play more regularly under Scott Parker to boost his chances of playing at the European Championships next summer.
Conceding goals has been a real issue for the Cottagers, with 24-year-old Danish centre-back Andersen moving to Craven Cottage in the hope of keeping goals out.
