Liverpool’s stunning unbeaten run now stands at 40 Premier League games after Roberto Firmino’s 85th minute goal secured a hard-fought win at Wolves.
Wolves looked on course to get something from the game after Raul Jimenez’ leveller six minutes after the interval, with Nuno Santo’s men then pushing for a winner.
But Jurgen Klopp’s men held firm and grabbed a late winner to send the away faithful delirious.
The Reds needed less than eight minutes to take the lead.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner from the right was met at the edge of the six-yard box by Jordan Henderson and the Reds captain diverted it into the back of the net via a combination of his head and shoulder.
There was a VAR review to determine whether it was handball, but the goal stood.
Liverpool suffered a blow midway through the half when Sadio Mane went off. It was not immediately clear what the issue was but the Senegal star wandered towards the touchline before sitting down on the pitch while play was ongoing.
