Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur on loan until the end of the season.
The England left-back is keen to play more regularly ahead of the European Championships in the summer after missing the last four games for Spurs.
The Magpies have also been struck down by a series of injuries, with Jetro Willems out for the foreseeable, making the move perfect for all parties.
Danny Rose has completed a loan move to Newcastle United
Talking to the clubs website, the 29-year-old said: Its a great honour for me to be here. Im so grateful that the manager has brought me in and Im looking to repay him in every way I can as soon as Im playing.
For me, its really exciting that I can come here and have the chance to play in front of the Newcastle fans.
Newcastle is one of the biggest clubs in England. I spoke to the manager last night and he told me there were 50,000 fans here at the weekend against Oxford.
You cant go wrong with that kind of passion and support from the fans, and its something Im looking forward to.
Rose has reportedly played his last game for Tottenham Hotspur
The defender has 29 international caps to his name and is eligible to play for the Magpies this Saturday against Norwich City.
But it seems unlikely he will be returning to play for Spurs upon completion of his loan deal.
Speaking on White and Sawyer, The Suns Martin Lipton claimed the full-back had irked Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy for the final time.
Hes not going to play anymore for Tottenham, Lipton said on Thursday morning.
Injury to Jetro Willems has forced Steve Bruce into the transfer market
There is no way they want him in the team; they dont want him in the squad, they want him out of the club, they dont want him to be seen there ever again.
Thats the position they [the club] are in at the moment. I dont just mean Jose [Mourinho], Daniel [Levy] as well.
I think its fair to say that Daniel is an enigma as a player. Hes a very strong-minded chap and there is nothing wrong with that.
And for a while, I know [Mauricio] Pochettino quite liked the fact that he did cause friction in the dressing room all the time.
Danny Rose will NEVER play for Tottenham again, Martin Lipton tells White and Sawyer
Not always negatively, but just to rough people up and get them going. And that wears away though.
And there has come a point where they just dont fancy him anymore and if Jose doesnt like you, hes not the sort to change his mind too easily.
