Fiorentina boss Beppe Iachini says Duncan still isn’t ready for his Viola debut, whilst there is “still bitterness” about the refereeing decisions against Juventus.
Iachini’s side lost to their bitter rivals 3-0 last weekend in a contentious match in which Juve were awarded two penalties, and the Viola boss still isn’t happy about the decisions.
“There is still bitterness, both in Milan and against Juventus, the result was penalising for the performance we gave,” said Iachini in his press conference.
“We were dangerous in the match, but we could have been even more incisive. The incident of Juve’s second penalty demoralised us a little.”
Fiorentina welcome Atalanta to Florence this weekend, with kick off tomorrow at 14:00 GMT, you can read the match preview here.
“They have very strong players, physically and technically. Josip Illicic, Papu Gomez, Duvan Zapata and Mario Pasalic for example. They are very strong on the wings, and they play by heart.
“We will have to have a great game, and to be organised.”
New signing Duncan arrived injured, and Iachini says he still isn’t ready to play.
“Yesterday he started working separately with the medical staff, today there is another training session, we will check with him next week.”
Iachini had teased a possible trident of Federico Chiesa, Patrick Cutrone and Dusan Vlahovic in previous games and was asked about it again.
“We are working on it, yes, but it is not guaranteed that more goals are scored. We need everyone in optimal condition.”
