WED. JAN. 8
CENTER
Roope Hintz, DAL ($5,400 at LAK) — He had one goal, one assist and five shots on goal for the Dallas Stars against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday, giving him six points (two goals, four assists) over the past six games. Hintz, who’s playing on a line with veteran forward Joe Pavelski, quietly leads the Stars in goals (14) and is a value target against the Los Angeles Kings.
WING
Alex Iafallo, LAK ($4,900 vs. DAL) — He quietly has a seven-game point streak totaling eight points (four goals, four assists) and 17 SOG. He has been playing on a line with valuable center Anze Kopitar for much of the season, and it’s worth riding the hot hand in Iafallo against the Stars, who are coming off a four-day break. Iafallo is tied with wing Tyler Toffoli for third on the Kings in points (24) behind Kopitar (38) and defenseman Drew Doughty (26).
DEFENSEMAN
Tyson Barrie, TOR ($5,500 vs. WPG) — He had an assist and five SOG for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday, giving him eight points (one goal, seven assists) and 25 SOG over his past seven games. Barrie is averaging 22:35 per game over the span and brings first power-play exposure to valuable forwards Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner, John Tavares and William Nylander. The Maple Leafs, who have scored at least three goals in 11 straight games, had a 6-3 road win against the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 2.
GOALIE
Carter Hart, PHI ($7,500 vs. WSH) — He’s 0-3-0 with an .830 save percentage in his past four appearances, all road games, but has bounce-back appeal when the Philadelphia Flyers host the Washington Capitals with both teams on short rest. Hart is 11-1-2 with a .947 save percentage and one shutout in 14 home games and stopped 35 of 36 shots faced in a home shootout loss to the Capitals on Nov. 13.

THU. JAN. 9
CENTER
Patrice Bergeron, BOS (vs. WPG) — He has nine points (seven goals, two assists) and 24 shots on goal over the past eight games for the Boston Bruins skating in his usual spot with elite wings Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. Bergeron is worth spending up for against the Winnipeg Jets, who will be on the second of a back-to-back set.
WING
Zack Kassian, EDM (at MTL) — He has nine points (four goals, five assists) over the past 13 games for the Edmonton Oilers skating on the top line with elite center Connor McDavid, who leads the NHL in assists (45) and points (69). Kassian is a cheap stacking option to offset McDavid’s expensive FanDuel price against the Montreal Canadiens, who are 0-6-1 in their past seven games.
Ilya Kovalchuk, MTL (vs. EDM) — The veteran had an assist and four SOG in his Montreal debut on Monday and followed with two assists, one on the power play, against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Kovalchuk is playing big minutes (19:25, 21:22 in first two games with Canadiens) in a top-six, power-play role and is worth rostering in a home game against the Oilers, who have allowed at least three goals in seven of their past eight games.
DEFENSEMAN
Tony DeAngelo, NYR (vs. NJD) — He has eight points (one goal, seven assists), including three power-play assists, and 26 SOG in his past nine games and is averaging 19:36 per game over the span. He has 10 power-play points this season playing frequently on the top unit with elite forwards Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad and has a favorable home matchup against the New Jersey Devils.
GOALIE
David Rittich, CGY (vs. MIN) — He is 9-3-2 with a .915 save percentage in his past 14 games and has a winnable matchup against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, who have one win in their past four games (1-2-1). The Flames are 11-5-1 since their coaching change from Bill Peters to Geoff Ward, and Rittich is 9-4-3 at home this season.
