Police have praised Aussies who flocked to pubs as they reopened in the Northern Territory, saying they were “pretty well behaved”.

Police have praised Aussies who flocked to pubs as they reopened in the Northern Territory, saying they were “pretty well behaved”.“From a police perspective … it was a good response,” NT Police Commander David Procter said on Saturday.
Commander Procter said there were a couple of incidents at some licensed premises where patrons could have been better behaved, but no infringement notices were issued.  There were a number of warnings, but just one arrest.
“Across the board, across the Territory, I think that’s a pretty good response when we think about everyone has been waiting for this moment or the past six weeks to have a bit of freedom, to go out and enjoy the company of other people,” he said.
Police have also praised NSW residents for sticking to the rules.
“We’ve got early feedback from our police on the ground there’s an acceptance conditions have been relaxed and there’s been compliance with the new conditions,” NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Joe Cassar said.
