Spezia host their first-ever Serie A match with several new faces against the Sassuolo trident of Domenico Berardi, Gregoire Defrel and Ciccio Caputo.
Spezia are embarking on their maiden voyage in the top flight following last season’s historic promotion.
Jeroen Zoet, Jacopo Sala, Cristian Dell’Orco, Tommaso Pobega and Kevin Agudelo all signed over the summer and are thrown into the starting XI for their debuts.
Sassuolo, meanwhile, make two changes to the side who drew 1-1 with Cagliari on the opening matchday as Defrel and Giorgios Kyriakopoulos form a new-look left flank.
Defender Marlon is not in the squad as he closes in on a move to Premier League side Fulham, while wing wizard Jeremie Boga is also absent.
Spezia (4-3-3): Zoet; Sala, Erlic, Dell’Orco, Ramos; Bartolomei, Ricci, Pobega; Agudelo, Galabinov, Gyasi
Sassuolo (4-2-3-1): Consigli; Toljan, Chiriches, Ferrari, Kyriakopoulos; Locatelli, Obiang; Berardi, Djuricic, Defrel; Caputo
Referee: Ghersini
