Steam is experiencing a partial outage, including the Store and Community portals. It’s unclear how the outage is impacting customers trying to play games they already own.

Valves Steam platform appears to be having a partial outage. Users are currently having difficulty reaching the Store and Community pages. An unnofficial website that monitors publicly available data shows the service is recovering, but still has less than half of its connections available. Polygon has reached out to Valve for comment.
Its unclear if the outage is impacting customers trying to play games. Steam Charts, another independent website that tracks current player counts, shows that some games are seeing their populations dip while others are spiking.
The outage arrives just days after the end of Steams Lunar New Year Sale, which concluded on Jan. 27. But the issue is especially problematic for games launching today. One high-profile launch is Days of War, a World War II-themed multiplayer shooter which is scheduled to go live at 1:00 p.m. EST. The game has been in the Early Access program since 2017.
At the time of this writing it appears the Steam web API has come back online. Meanwhile, the entire Community portal is still offline and the store itself is returning a 503 error. Well update this story as we learn more about the situation.
