Thirty-three new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Calgarians adjust to ‘new reality’

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not declared a federal emergency.
Meanwhile, the province has committed $500 million to the COVID-19 response, $113 million in relief for the energy sector, $60 million for charitable and non-profit groups to aid vulnerable Albertans, and $50 million to assist people who have lost their sole source of income.
The United Conservative government has also established a new advisory panel on economic recovery. The 12-person panel is led by economist Jack Mintz and includes former prime minister Stephen Harper.
Federally, Trudeau has announced $82 billion in financial aid for Canadians, $27 billion of which will support individuals and companies, and $55 billion in tax deferrals for households and businesses.
Trudeau said the $27-billion relief package is just the first step.
There is no one silver bullet, he said in his Sunday address to the nation. We are looking now at what those next steps are to ensure our economy is able to pick up again once we are through this, whether it takes weeks or months.
