Arsenal have began the 2020/21 campaign in positive fashion, but face a difficult trip to Manchester City this weekend – who they have a dreadful Premier League record against.
The Gunners have failed to register a domestic win against City since 2015, although they have come out on top against them in the FA Cup twice in the past few years – most recently in the semi-final of last season’s competition.
Mikel Arteta led Arsenal to a 2-0 win over his former side in last year’s FA Cup
When it comes to the Premier League though, Arsenal have had little joy against City in recent times.
Pep Guardiola’s men are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League meetings with Arsenal (W7 D2), since a 2-1 loss in December 2015. Theyve also scored at least twice in all nine of these games.
Arsenal have lost their last six Premier League meetings with City, shipping three goals in five of those six games.
The last time they had longer losing run against an opponent in the league was versus Ipswich between 1974-1977 (7), so will be hoping to put an end to those bad omens this weekend.

One man who simply loves playing against City is Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian maestro has been involved in seven goals in his last eight Premier League starts against Arsenal (5 goals, 2 assists).
The 29-year-old has also scored more Premier League goals against the Gunners than he has versus any other side during his stint in England (5).
De Bruyne has been on the losing side on just three occasions against Arsenal, while tasting victory on nine occasions and drawing on two occasions.
