Juventus have hit back at Barcelona on social media after the Spanish club’s admin poked fun at Cristiano Ronaldo after their Champions League win in Turin.
After Barca’s 2-0 win at the Allianz Stadium, the Catalans posted on Twitter that Juve supporters got to see ‘the real GOAT’ in action, after Messi dazzled while Ronaldo was ruled out of the game after testing positive for coronavirus.
But the Italian champions issued a quick response, warning the Spaniards not to talk too much before the return leg at the Nou Camp…
Messi dazzled again for Barcelona while Ronaldo watched from home
Football fans all over the world were desperate to see Messi and Ronaldo go head-to-head once again to reignite what has become arguably football’s greatest rivalry.
But they were left bitterly disappointed after Juve’s talisman was forced to stay at home, and Messi took his chance to shine with a dazzling performance, which he capped with a stoppage-time penalty.
And the LaLiga side certainly riled up a few Juve fans following their victory.

Barcelona tweeted: “We are glad you were able to see the real goat (emoji) on your pitch, @juventusfcen!”
Juventus didn’t lie down, though, and issued a rapid response to their rivals, Tweeting: “You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We’ll bring you the right one at Camp Nou.”
Ronaldo now has two weeks to recover and prove his match fitness before Juve’s trip to Spain, or his club will have egg on their face!
Messi did disappoint in the match, with the Argentine maestro setting up Ousmane Dembele for Barca’s first within 14 minutes before sealing the victory for his side with a late spot kick..
Juventus, however, could count themselves hugely unlucky in the clash as Alvaro Morata bizarrely scored an unprecedented hat-trick of offside goals.
After the game, Italy icon Christian Vieri summed up what most of us were feeling in regards to Messi.
“Lionel Messi is the Harry Potter of football,” he said. “When he stops playing I will throw my TV away.”
