Police have arrested a 14-year-old girl after the death of a 10-year-old girl in the north-west of NSW this morning.
Emergency services were called to a property at Gunnedah about 7:45am, following reports the 10-year-old girl was seriously injured.
Police have confirmed she died at the scene.
Officers arrested the 14-year-old, and she is being held at Gunnedah Police Station.
Gunnedah is situated in the heart of the Namoi Valley on the Oxley Highway and is just over 430 kilometres from Sydney.
The town has a population of about 13,000 people.
