Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is out of the Champions League quarter-final with PSG after he was diagnosed with a knee ligament tear.
According to Sky Sport Italia, TMW and more, today’s scans highlighted a sub-total lesion of the posterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
The shot-stopper had sustained the injury just minutes into the final Serie A game of the season against Atalanta, landing awkwardly on one leg.
It means Gollini will not be able to play in the Champions League Final Eight tournament in Lisbon, which kicks off with the quarter-final against PSG on Wednesday evening.
Marco Sportiello will therefore take the gloves, but the 28-year-old has only played six Serie A games this season and one in the Champions League.
The European outing was in the 4-3 victory away to Valencia, the second leg Round of 16 clash.
