Bologna midfielder Andrea Poli is out for approximately two months after fracturing his fibula.
The incident occurred during the 4-1 win over Parma on Monday evening, but the diagnosis has only now been confirmed.
A statement from the club announced tests found a compound fracture of the right fibula.
The recovery time for Poli is expected to be circa 45-60 days.
He only turned 31 this week and has been at Bologna since 2017.
