Brescia have announced that Eugenio Corini has been sacked from his position as head coach, and the reports claim that Diego Lopez is set to take over.
After cancelling the first training session this morning, Brescia revealed somewhat that they were about to announce important news about the first team.
Now, Corini has officially been sacked from his position, meaning that he has lost the job in Lombardy for the second time this campaign.
“Brescia Calcio announce to have relieved Eugenio Corini of the position as coach for the first team,” the club wrote in a statement. “The club wants to thank Mr. Corini and his staff for the professionalism, dedication and commitment they have shown.”
Corini was first sacked in November but came back one month later and was reappointed to replace his successor Fabio Grosso.
The reports in Italy have suggested that Lopez has been set up to take his place at Brescia and has already agreed terms with President Massimo Cellino.
Brescia released a statement only three days ago insisting the rumours about Corini’s dismissal were untrue and the club had full faith in their coach.
