Former Italy international Christian Vieri agrees with the decision to suspend Serie A and insists that “you can’t play football without fans”.
The former striker, with history at Inter, Milan and Juventus, has supported the decision to temporarily stop all matches in Italy and focus on the Italian people.
“You can’t play football without fans,” he told Tiki Taka. “It’s correct to stop the League, we need to think about the Italians.
“Sport doesn’t exist at the moment, only the people and their health. We must stay at home.”
Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte announced that the country has been put in quarantine until April 3 and a complete lockdown has been activated.
All sport has been cancelled for now.
