WA police shut down a hotel in Perth’s main entertainment district amid a coronavirus breach, telling patrons to self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19.

A coronavirus breach has forced the closure of a Perth hotel.
When police arrived at Hotel Northbridge on Friday night they initially told patrons they could not leave, but did not give further information.
But the patrons were later told to leave their details with police and then go home, self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible.
The details of the breach are not yet known, but the ABC understands the Lake Street venue was not being used as a quarantine hotel for returned travellers.
Western Australia has strict border controls in place and has not recorded any community transmission of COVID-19 for several months.
A number of people, including two women who flew into Perth from South Australia, have been charged with breaching WA’s quarantine rules.
The Australian Medical Association has been warning West Australians not to get complacent about social distancing and said the state like anywhere else remained at risk of a COVID-19 outbreak.
