Liverpools Under-23s secured a memorable 1-0 win over Shrewsbury thanks to Ro-Shaun Williams 75th-minute own goal.
While Liverpools first-team players observed the Premier League winter break, along with manager Jurgen Klopp, Neil Critchleys youngsters did them proud.
Liverpool got what they deserved
A hopeful ball upfield from Reds right-back Neco Williams was headed in by his namesake, leaving goalkeeper Max O’Leary helpless.
The Shrews failed to have a shot on target as they struggled to replicate their performance which earned them a cup replay less than two weeks ago.
Jason Cummings, who scored twice to set up the replay at Anfield, started on the bench as Sam Ricketts men lacked bite.
Shrewsbury thought they had taken the lead just before the hour mark when Shaun Whalley headed past Caoimhin Kelleher.
However, the goal was disallowed by VAR with Whalley adjudged to be offside.
And the games only goal was scored with 15 minutes to go by Williams to gift Liverpool a fifth round tie at Chelsea on March 5.

The average age of Liverpools starting XI was 19 years 101 days, with Curtis Jones becoming the youngest ever captain in the clubs history at 19 years and five days old.
Meanwhile, a strong Newcastle side threw away a two-goal lead at League One promotion hopefuls Oxford.
Sean Longstaff and Joelinton struck in the first-half which looked set to confirm a fifth round trip to West Brom.
But Liam Kelly pulled one back for Oxford, before West Ham loanee Nathan Holland volleyed an equaliser past Karl Darlow in the 94th minute.
Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney scored and led Derby to a comfortable 3-1 win over Northampton.
First-half goals from Andre Wisdom and Duane Holmes put the hosts in control, before Cobblers midfielder Nicky Adams scored two minutes after the restart.
However, a Jack Marriott strike and Rooney penalty put the game to bed.
Newcastle let a two-goal lead slip at Oxford United
Cardiff were forced to go into extra time when Reading equalised after being 2-0 down.
Josh Murphy and Robert Glatzel put the hosts in a commanding lead, before second-half goals from Omar Richards substitute Andy Rinomhota stunned Neil Harris side.
Meanwhile another game went to extra time as League One club Coventry thought they had beaten Championship side Birmingham 1-0 thanks to Amadou Bakayokos goal, before Harlee Dean struck in injury-time.
