Dele Alli has apologised for appearing to mock the deadly coronavirus outbreak in a Snapchat video.
The Tottenham midfielder filmed a man of Asian appearance and then panned the camera to a bottle of antiseptic hand wash on Saturday.
Dele Alli released a statement apologising for the video on Sunday
The video, which was quickly deleted, was accompanied with the caption: This virus gunna have to be quicker than that to catch me.
More than 34,800 people have been infected with coronavirus, with the large majority in China, and the death toll from the disease rose to 815 over the weekend.
On Sunday, Alli insisted his video was not funny and he had let himself and his club down.
In a video released on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, Alli said: “I’d like to apologise for the video I posted on Snapchat yesterday.
