Monaco forward Keita Balde Diao said he will ‘never close the door’ on Lazio and has revealed he keeps in touch with former coach Simone Inzaghi.
The Senegalese attacker arrived in the Italian capital from Barcelona in July 2011 and stayed until 2017, when Monaco picked him up for €30m.
Keita contributed 31 goals and 22 assists in his 137 games for the Biancocelesti and will not exclude the chances of a return to the Olimpico.
“I spent eight years there, I could never close the door on them,” he told AS. “In the future, who knows, nobody knows what tomorrow will bring.
“I still talk to Inzaghi. He’s a coach I enjoyed playing under, like with [former Lazio coach Vladimir] Petkovic. I feel good with [current Monaco coach Robert] Moreno too.
He came back to Italy on loan at Inter last season but returned to Ligue 1 and has scored four goals in 21 games for Les Rouges et Blancs this campaign.
