NSW health authorities say three of the nine new coronavirus cases recorded overnight are under investigation.
Of the remaining cases, NSW Health said four were locally acquired and were close contacts of known cases.
The remaining two are returned international travellers in hotel quarantine.
One of the cases under investigation is a student of Tangara School for Girls in Cherrybrook, north-west of Sydney.
The school has been closed for cleaning and contact tracing.
In the 24 hours leading up to 8:00pm last night, 24,421 COVID-19 tests were conducted.
More to come.
