The final relegation spot is decided today, either Lecce or Genoa, and Fabio Liverani warns the Salentini must ‘find a way to win by all means possible.’
Lecce must beat Parma and hope that Genoa don’t get three points against Hellas Verona.
“The lads have always put their heart and soul into performances and didn’t always get what they deserved,” said Liverani in his press conference.
“The trip to Udinese was our last chance to cling to Serie A and the players went beyond the limits to achieve that victory. We can still hope. We’ve got to give our absolute all, find a way to win by all means possible, but also know that might not be enough. It’s not entirely in our hands.
“Heart and head will be fundamental elements, as it’s the final game and it’s like a Cup Final, so we have to squeeze ourselves dry with the performance of a lifetime.
“Playing this game without our fans is another real handicap, but we’re all in the same boat and have to adapt. The city is right behind us and they know being in Serie A is valuable for Lecce as a whole.”
Liverani is keeping injury news under wraps by naming the entire squad for this game, including suspended Neuhen Paz.
